Description
Based on our popular brass Dervish model, these Datura Dance School zills are Rachel Brice’s ‘”dream come true.” Available only in limited quantities, these cymbals are a collaborative project between Rachel Brice and Saroyan Mastercrafts. Years in the making, they are the newest in the Saroyan family of zils.
A finely crafted and richly designed set of zills, the Datura Dervish Signature Zil is also recommended for troupe performances. 3.0″ diameter. Approximate weight 265 grams (9.35 oz). Each set contains 4 (four) cymbals and heavy duty elastic.

These are my ALL TIME favorite zils for practice and performance. They have a very flat shape that contacts well and is easy to play. This also adds a lot of percussive clack to the medium mellow ring of these zils, which I love. Good choice for troupes or cymbal choreographies, as they aren’t as piercing as some cymbals. They’re also a lovely design and a good weight for me. Love these.

Very nice heavy loud zills. They sound great onstage, and can be heard well over live or recorded music, even when there is a robust sound system and the zills can just be heard acoustically.
